As the President of the Executive Committee of the Association, Mr. Abdur Rouf served for 1 term. Alhaj Md. Zafar Ahmad Chowdhury served as President for 5 terms. Mr. Md. Gias Uddin Chowdhury (Khokon) served as President for 6 terms, General Secretary for 2 terms, and Director for 2 terms. He also served for 1 term as a Director of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI), the apex trade organization of business communities across the country. Mr. Khandaker Moinur Rahman (Jewel) was elected President for 3 terms and also served as an elected Director of FBCCI for 3 terms. In addition, the current honorable President is Mr. Md. Nurul Islam. At the beginning of the Bangladesh Agricultural Machinery Merchant Association, the total number of members was only 71. Over time, the membership gradually increased, and currently the Association has approximately 1,846 members. This large organization of agricultural machinery traders has around 21 district branches across the country. Similar to the central committee, each district branch forms its executive committee through elections every two years. All activities of the Association, especially the annual reports, financial statements, and documents related to the elected Executive Committee for each two-year term, are submitted to the Joint Stock Companies and Firms, the Ministry of Commerce, and FBCCI. Bangladesh is an agriculture-based country, where nearly 80% of the population is directly or indirectly involved in agriculture. As partners in supporting farmers in agricultural activities, agricultural machinery traders supply locally manufactured and imported agricultural machinery and spare parts to farmers at affordable prices. Furthermore, all activities of the Association are conducted directly in the interest of farmers and agricultural machinery traders.
